Our fundraising team was delighted to receive an email recently from Julia Mannix in Gawler, South Australia.

Julia wanted to let us know about the very successful ‘Mad Hatters Tea Party’ she and friends held to raise funds for The Gawler Foundation. More than 50 people attended (despite wet and windy weather) and the event raised $2000 overall!

Julia writes: “I am really delighted to have this opportunity to help give something back to the Foundation. Thankfully, you helped me rediscover that most vital of ingredients: HOPE and through adopting the Foundation’s seven essential principles I feel really empowered to get on with life and make the most of every day – content in the knowledge that what I do can make a huge difference!”

Pictured below are Mike Stoakes, Julia Mannix, Pete McManus, Christine Bradley and Martin and Jodie Catt in full hatted glory! All are Gawler Foundation members who met up at a Life and Living Retreat in late 2011 and have since forged a strong friendship. Julia reports that she, Christine and Jodie  are all doing well health-wise – and  are celebrating the fact that Jodie has just been pronounced cancer free by her medical team.
