Reconnecting with Ourselves
We all aspire to love and be loved in a way that is truly unconditional. The greatest spiritual traditions teach us that it is through unconditional self-acceptance and self-love that our deepest healing and potential is accessed, and yet, so many of us find it elusive or so very hard to do.
In this spacious and unique week-long retreat, well-loved and highly respected meditation teachers, Kimberly Poppe and Dr Ruth Gawler, will take you on a transformational journey into deeper compassionate understanding of yourself, and self-love.
In an open, gentle, open, and supportive space, Kimberly and Ruth will gently lead you to explore and re-discover your most authentic being through your own awareness. We will spend time learning to reconnect with ourselves – our whole selves: the parts that are hidden, the parts that dominate, the parts we know well, and the parts we don’t know so well.
You will discover for yourself what can happen when you let go of the thinking and doing, and learn to live fully in your body, and simple be.
You will also explore how to develop a more spacious relationship with your thoughts, emotions and body, and how to find more natural ease, kindness and gentleness for yourself.
These processes start within, and when realised, will naturally influence your everyday life by positively impacting your experiences, and the people around you.
Loving the real you.
Each day will consist of guided meditation and self-compassion practice sessions including instruction and clarification, and opportunities to ask questions, share experiences and learn from each other. Gentle mindful movement through Yoga, Feldenkrais and mindful walking will also be integrated into the daily schedule.
There will be plenty of time for integration and relaxation in the beautiful and conducive natural environment of the Yarra Valley Living Centre; and periods of noble silence will offer space to rest and rejuvenate the mind.
Nourishing, revitalising and delicious plant-based wholefoods will be lovingly prepared by our famous Gawler retreat kitchen.
Topics and techniques covered in this retreat are accessible and engaging for both beginner and experienced meditators who are looking to know ‘what more’ is possible on this wonderful adventure of becoming who we really are.
Kimberly leads meditation workshops and retreats around the world. Deeply respected by thousands of students for her commitment, clarity and warmth, she has studied with some of greatest pioneers and teachers of mindfulness, loving kindness and self-compassion in the world. Kimberly has been immersed in Buddhist study and practice for the last 20 years with some of the greatest Tibetan teachers of our time who personally trained and authorised her to teach. She is a co-founder and is lead teacher of bodhi, a new meditation app and educational programme dedicated to bringing a clear mind and an open heart into every aspect of our lives. Born in America, Kimberly has been based in France for the past 15 years and recently moved to Amsterdam with her Italian husband. Dr Ruth Gawler
(MBBS MGP Psych)
Ruth has an openness, directness and authenticity that have endeared her to many. She has worked and studied for over 17 years with her husband Ian Gawler in programs and meditation retreats around Australia and New Zealand. Past president of Meditation Australia, Ruth was on their Board for 8 years and played a significant role in bringing to reality their vision of integrating mindfulness and meditation into everyday life. A GP with post-graduate training in psychiatry, Ruth has a special interest in Mind-Body Medicine and what helps people to heal – physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Ruth’s regular personal study and practice of yoga and meditation over 35 years informs many of her ways in assisting people to open their awareness, connect with body, deeply relax and integrate their whole being. Price starts from $1,990 per person (including GST), depending on your choice of accommodation, and covers all elements of the program, including delicious plant-based wholefood meals, snacks, freshly squeezed juices, teas and dandelion coffee.
