is sometimes called a Chinese
Gooseberry but it is not a gooseberry at all. It is a
‘malay cucumber tree’. The fruit grows in
clusters on a compact evergreen tree. I have actually seen
it at the Vic Market. You can slice
and stir fry in soy sauce for a sweet and sour taste.
